I like how you explained Epictetus' view on inner freedom. I only JUST started trying to understand Stoicism, and what I read in his Enchiridion seemed to imply that evil and suffering are mere states of mind, which I couldn't agree to. Your way of phrasing it is much better.

Thank you, glad you liked my article! Yeah, I felt the exact same way as you when I started following Stoicism. There's nothing consoling about someone telling you, "It's all in your head." That's not Stoicism. Epictetus teaches us that, despite our circumstances, we can still live happy and meaningful lives. Stoicism should inspire people, not blame them for their own problems.
