Since Ridley Scott released his Napoleon movie in 2023, there has been a surge of American interest in the great Bonaparte and his epoch of European history. Like many historians of Napoleon, Roberts was shocked by the gross inaccuracies of the Ridley Scott movie. But that is a topic for another article.
